On Max's 7 month birthday he learned to clap. Talk about hitting his milestones on easy to remember dates. Here is a fun video of his new skill. John is also trying to teach him to play with his soccer ball. He hasn't quite mastered rolling the ball back but as you can see John improvised and Max had a blast.

Playing at the Park
We took Max to the park across the street yesterday. We figured since he loves swinging in his Johnny Jumper that he would like the swing. He did!
I hate it when you take a video sideways on accident:( This was by far the best one though so you'll have to turn your head or computer screen.

He wasn't too sure about the slide though. It's nice to still be outside in November. I'm afraid this mild weather won't last much longer though.

Halloween
Glad we made this last minute purchase at Costco about 1 hour before the truck or treat at church. This picture is certianly worth the $9.99.

Grandma and Grandpa'a mirrors
Max loves mirrors right now so this is one of his favorite spots right now.
He is also babbling like crazy these days. Sometimes he likes to copy you like in this video. Other times he will be sitting playing by himself just talking a ton and really loud. I think he really likes the sound of his voice.
Snow in Rexburg
At the beginning of October we had our first snow in Rexburg and this is what happened to the apple trees.
The limbs were nearly touching the ground with the weight of all the apples so we harvested the apples in the snow(well I can't say I helped much at all) Check out all the apples!
So we pulled out Max's snowsuit for our walk. He wasn't too happy at first but I thought he looked so funny.
He didn't mind it too much once we started strolling on our walk. Good thing Grandma has everything we can borrow. This was his first time in an umbrella stroller and he did great. I guess he had a bit of padding to cushion him though:)
Teeth!!!
Last Saturday, one week prior to his 6 month birthday, Max cut his first tooth. Then a few days latter the second popped through. He wasn't really fussy so I might not have even noticed them. Grandma Adair has taught him that his gums squeak. Now he likes to squeak them himself. It is really funny how he moves his head instead of the toy to make the noise but just today he also figured out he could move his hand instead.

Fun new toys
Max is learning how to really play with his toys now. He just loves being able to sit up and grab different toys. He is so close to being able to sit up without the security of the bumbo or the laundry basket(a great little discovery the other night)

Max plays with his binkie more than he sucks on it. Whatever entertains him works for me though.

He sucks on this tylenol bottle pretty well though. It is a staple toy in the diaper bag these days.
This is the first time we sat Max in the Bumbo. He is much more used to it now but he still "bucks" out like this when he is tired of sitting in it.

Jackson Hole, WY
Yesterday we took a nice drive to Jackson Hole, Wyoming. It was a beautiful with the leaves changing and the sun on the Grand Tetons. Here is our bundle of a baby.
Moving to the Farm
I didn't realize that John's parents' garden was really a farm. They had to harvest everything the other day because we are already into freezing weather here. There was one day last week with a high of 45 degrees! Here is the view of the harvest minus tons more plums that have already been dehydrated or made into fruit leather, all the apples still on the trees and all the huge red potatoes and squash that filled the cold cellar in the house. I think we have enough food until hibernation is over for the winter:)

Here are the stages of making fruit leather. I'm becoming a pro.
Trying new foods
These were our attempts to keep Max entertained during dinner the other day. I guess he has been introduced to sugar now. He really liked rubbing the marshmellow around on the tray of the high chair after it was nice and slobbery.
Not sure if this face is because of the texture or the taste(all we had were honey nut cheerios)

Fun with Family
Max and I spent some time last week in Springville with Brian and April and in Payson with Garrett and Kricket's family. April really had Max giggling up a storm one morning.

We also got to watch Jenna and Cooper play a soccer game with Garrett as their coach.

Max got to try out Ryder's new high chair and looked so grown up in it.
Surgical Rotation
John's surgical rotation is sure wearing him out. One night he came home and just crashed on the floor next to Max. You can see in this video that Max is kicking John and jabbering away yet John slept through it all.

More Fun in SLC
How we are spending our days...
Playing the piano on the Exersaucer
Trying new foods. He loves his rice cereal but as you can see he didn't like the mashed potatoes too well.Thursday, August 20, 2009
